IMMUNIZATIONS FOR DOGS AND CATS
DOGS
DA2P-P (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)
- Puppies are vaccinated at about 8,12 and 16 weeks of age
- Annual boosters are required.
- Puppies receive an additional parvo vaccine at 20 weeks of age.
RABIES
- Puppies are vaccinated at 12 weeks of age
- Repeat once a year.
BORDETALLA-PARAINFLUENZE (Kennel Cough)
- Vaccinated at least 3 days before entering kennel
- Vaccine effective for 6 months - 1 year.
CATS
DV-FVR-C
- Kittens vaccinated at about 8,12 and 16 weeks of age.
- Boosters given annually.
RABIES
- Kittens vaccinated at 12 weeks of age.
- Booster is repeated once a year
FELINE LEUKEMIA VIRUS VACCINE (FeLV)
- Initial vaccine can be given at 9 weeks of age (blood test first is ideal)
- Repeat in 3-4 weeks.
- Vaccine is repeated annually.
FELINE IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS (FIV)
- No vaccine available, but should be tested.
