IMMUNIZATIONS FOR DOGS AND CATS

DOGS

DA2P-P (Distemper, Adenovirus, Parainfluenza, Parvovirus)

  1. Puppies are vaccinated at about 8,12 and 16 weeks of age
  2. Annual boosters are required.
  3. Puppies receive an additional parvo vaccine at 20 weeks of age.

RABIES

  1. Puppies are vaccinated at 12 weeks of age
  2. Repeat once a year.

BORDETALLA-PARAINFLUENZE (Kennel Cough)

  1. Vaccinated at least 3 days before entering kennel
  2. Vaccine effective for 6 months - 1 year.

CATS

DV-FVR-C

  1. Kittens vaccinated at about 8,12 and 16 weeks of age.
  2. Boosters given annually.

RABIES

  1. Kittens vaccinated at 12 weeks of age.
  2. Booster is repeated once a year

FELINE LEUKEMIA VIRUS VACCINE (FeLV)

  1. Initial vaccine can be given at 9 weeks of age (blood test first is ideal)
  2. Repeat in 3-4 weeks.
  3. Vaccine is repeated annually.

FELINE IMMUNODEFICIENCY VIRUS (FIV)

  1. No vaccine available, but should be tested.
